One Piece

  One Piece is set in a fictional-ocean-bound world similar to Earth,where pirates rampage wildly in  area of freedom and adventure known as the "Great Age of Piracy".This epoch was inaugurated with the public execution of Gold Roger,the Pirate King.With his dying breath,Roger announced that the world was free to seek the wealth he had accumulated during his lifetime,provided that it could be found in "that "place-Grand Line.

Twenty two years after Roger's execution,interest in One Piece has dwindled,many of them gave up.However the spirit of the Straw Hat Pirates,who travel to the Grand Line,hasn't gone,yet.Although,the Straw Hat Pirates frequently find themselves at odds with other pirates,they are still deemed threatening by the World Government and Navy.

The main characters of One Piece are:Monkey D.Luffy and his crew,the Straw Hat Pirates.Along the way,they meet several people,most of them are other pirate crew,while others are in the Navy,whose job is to arrest these pirates.Crew:Naomi-a navigator and thief;Usopp-a  sniper and a liar;Sanji-womanizing chef;Arlong-a fishman and member of the former Sun pirates,who thinks that fishmen are superior to humans. The World of One Piece is populated by humans and numerous other races,including mermen and mermaids,fishmen,'fish human hybrids',and giants.It is covered by two vast oceans,which are divided by a massive mountain range called the Red Line.

One Piece,the most popular manga series of all time in Japan and one of the most popular manga series worldwide,is the highest selling manga and has received wide critical acclaim:for art,characterization,humor,
story,etc.It currently ranks at number one for the best selling manga in history.
The first opening of the One Piece anime TV series,"We Are!",won the Animation Kobe Theme Song Award .One Piece placed 9th among TV series in Japan.

Bleach

The episodes of Bleach anime series are based om the manga of the same name written by Tite Kubo.
The plot of the episodes follows the adventures of a teenager named Ichigo Kurosaki,who can see spirits and becomes a Soul Reaper after assuming the duties of Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki.
His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife.

Main characters:
Ichigo Kurosaki is a Human who has Shinigami powers.He is the son of Ishin and Masaki Kurosaki,and older brother of Karin and Yuzu.
Appearance: Ichigo's most distinguishing feature is his spiky orange hair.He is quite tall,lean built,with peach skin and brown eyes.

Personality: When he was younger,he considered his mother to be the center of his world.As a teenager,Ichigo is stubborn ,short-tempered,strong-wild and impulsive.Despite claiming not to care about what other people think about him,he attempts to maintain a "cool image."If somebody picks a fight with him,he cannot help fighting back.Ichigo is a capable student.He works as hard as he does to overcome the misconceptions based on his hair and bad temper.He hates fortune telling,horoscopes,feng shui,psychics and anyone whose trade involves  taking money from people.Ichigo also has a difficulty remembering people's faces and names.When it comes to fighting,Ichigo has a complex sense of honor.He regularly seeks to exact revenge for the cruel actions of his opponent.He also has a strong desire to win his fights.

Rukia Kuchiki is the lieutenant of the 13th Division under Captain Jushiro Ukitake.She is  the adoptive sister of Byakuya Kuchiki and a friend of Ichigo Kurosaki.
Appaerance: Short and petite,Rukia has  light skin and violet-coloured eyes.Her hair is black,with several strands of hair always hanging between her eyes.

Personality:Being born into lower class,she retains her modesty,even as the adopted member of the nobility.She is graceful and clean,yet chooses to talk to ordinary people.However,she is often forced to hide her personal troubles,even from her friends because of her cool and lone demenoar.According to others,she never opens her heart and also has difficulty making friends.Rukia is clueless about the ways of the modern Human World.She is very good at acting,having acted through a number of though situations.

 Uryu Ishida is a Quincy residing in KT.He is a student at KHS,where he is a classmate and also a friend with Ichigo.
Appearance: Uryu has straight,chin-length raven-coloured hair,framing both sides of his face,and is fair skinned with blue eyes.

Personality: He is generally quiet and solitary.But,tries harder to act cool when others are around.Uryu is a member of the handicrafts club at KHS ,and is highly skilled at sewing.Low blood pressure,hating procrastination,buttons and word "haphazard" are his characteristics.

Orihime Inoue is a Human living in KT.She is a student at KHS,where she is in the same class as Ichigo and her best friend Tatsuki Arisawa.
Appearance: Orihime is a teenager of average height.She has brown eyes,long waist-length burnt orange hair.

Personality: She is independent,friendly,humorous,caring,sensitive and kind.She comes off as naive and rather clueless,which is quite odd according to her high marks at school.She studies hard in order to receive financial support from her relatives.

Yasutora Sado,also known as Chad,is a Human teenager,and also in the same class as others.
Appearance: Chad is a teenager of Mexican descent.He is a dark-skinned with pronounced cheek bones and has wavy brow hair with bangs,that generally hangs over his brown eyes.Because of his looks he appears to be much older than he actually is.

Personality: Sado is quiet and sometimes is the subject of jokes or bullies,because he never fights back.Nonetheless,he is treated equally within his group of friends in KHS.Sado is also shown to be intelligent and fearless.

Visual characteristics

Body proportions of anime character come from the proportions of the human body.Head heights can vary as long as it's proportional with body.Most anime characters are seven to eight heights tall,and extreme heads are set around nine heads.Also,large eyes are one of the main characteristics.Osamu Tezuka was the first one who used this technique.He found his inspiration in American cartoon characters like Betty Boop,
Mickey Mouse and Disney's Bambi.The idea is that characters show their emotions through their large eyes.

Colouring is added to give eyes depth.The depth is accomplished by applying variable colour shading.A mixture of light shade and a dark shade is often used.However,not all anime have large eyes.For example,some of the work of Hayao Miyazaki and Toshiro Kawamoto are known for having realistically proportioned eyes,as well as realistic hair colours on their characters.

Facial expressions are there to denote moods and thoughts of the characters.Characters that are shocked or surprised will perform a "face fault",in which they display an extremely exaggerated expression.On the other side,mad or angry characters may exhibit a "vein" or "stress mark" effect,where veins will be on their forehead.Angry women,can sometimes summon a "mallet from nowhere" and strike another character with it.
Male characters will develop a "bloody nose"around the female they are in love.
Embarrassed and stressed characters usually produce a massive sweat drop or visibly red blush or set of parallel lines beneath  the eyes,as a manifestation of repressed romantic feelings.Characters may also have large" X " eyes in order to show a knockout or illnesses.This is specifically used for comedic purposes.

The very beginning

Anime,like manga has a large audience in Japan and recognition throughout the world.As the market for anime increased in Japan,it also gained popularity in East and Southeast Asia.Anime is currently popular in many different regions around the world.Both,hand-drawn and computer-animated anime exist.It is used in TV series,movies,video games,commercials ...,and mostly represents genres of fiction.

While anime had entered markets beyond Japan in 1960 s,it grew as a major cultural export .Anime has also had commercial success in Asia,Europe and Latin America,where anime has become more mainstream than in the United States.The Internet has played a significant role in the exposure of anime beyond Japan.Actually,as the popularity of the Internet grew,so did interest in anime.Much of the fandom of the anime grew through the Internet.To be more clear,some fan groups add subtitles to anime and distribute the episodes.These are known as fansubs.Often,people will collect these fansubs and upload them to websites  which they also put advertisements on ,as a good way to earn money,which violates copyright laws in many countries.

If we talk about how it all began,that would be the start of the 20 century,when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques.By the 1930 animation became an alternative format of storytelling to the live action industry in Japan.The first talkie anime was Chikara to Onna no Yo no Naka,produced by Masaoka in 1933.By 1940.,the big number of anime artists organizations had risen.
Osamu Tezuka,known as a" legend and the god of  manga" drew a lot of attention.Actually,his work inspired
characteristics and genres that remain fundamental elements of anime today. Robot anime like the Gundam and  The Super Dimension Fortress Macross series became instant classics in the 1980 s and the robot genre anime is still one of the most common in Japan and worldwide today..

Like all animation,the production processes of story boarding,voice acting,character design...etc.Camera angles,movement and lighting play an important role in scenes.Japanese anime has it's own set of rules to be followed that had developed over time.Unlike Disney animation,where the emphasis is on the movement,
Anime emphasizes the art quality as limited animation techniques could make up for the lack of time spent on movement.A variety of stories have been adapted into Anime.From Japanese history,classical literature to American westerns.Beside animation for children,there is also for an older audience.
Also,many commentators refer to anime as an art form.As a visual medium,it can emphasize visual styles.The styles are different from artist to artist,or from studio to studio.While different titles and artists have their own style,many stylistic elements have become "common" for anime in general.However,many anime have a non common style,and still have a large number of fans.Generally,the most common form of anime drawings include:big hair,large eyes and dramatically shaped speech bubbles,speed lines...etc

TV  regularly networks broadcast anime programming .Sony-based Animax and Disney's Jetix channel broadcast anime within many countries in the world.While smaller regional stations broadcast anime under the UHF.Major national TV networks,such as TV Tokyo broadcast anime regularly,of course in Japan.
